Boom Town Coffee Roasters is a Small Batch, Specialty Coffee Roaster and was established in January 2017 by Paul Moran. Paul has an extensive career in the Hospitality Industry that started in 1986. This was the beginning of a career that led to a passion for food, wine and coffee.

How things have changed across all aspects of the hospitality industry. For example, back in the late 1980’s a cappuccino looked more like a Bombe Alaska than a coffee in some Melbourne establishments.

As with wine and food an increased knowledge in coffee leads to greater offerings by business owners coupled with higher expectations by customers.

In 2014 Paul co-founded a coffee roaster in Bendigo with a partner that was previously a Coffee Roaster at a number of well reputed roasters in Melbourne. There followed a steep learning curve regarding all things coffee.

In January 2017, Boom Town Coffee Roasters was established with the purchase of a brand new Probat coffee roaster imported from Germany. The 12kg Probat one is seen as one of the best roasters of its size available anywhere in the world. State of the art technology provides control over all aspects of the roast profile. Touch screen controls and software programs allow for accurate real time readings at all times to achieve unparalleled consistency of roasts.
